Boscobel House and Gardens is the site of acres of gardens, an elegant Federal – period house museum and home of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. The house and gardens are open to the public ( and feature breathtaking views of the Hudson. Emil Kreye & Son did the natural installation of the rock outcroppings and water features to blend with the existing environment. Before we started this project there was no rock on site. The gardens are currently on the site of a former farm and woodlands. Our team imported all the rock that you see in these photos.

The stone bridge was built to provide access to the back lawn area for setup for special events. The waterfall controls the water level of the large upper pond. The recirculation system inputs water from the lower pond into the far end of the upper pond. The water then overflows down the cascades, through the stream and back to the lower pond.

The larger the scale of a project the lager the individual features. This expansive installation provides a  dominant water feature in a beautiful natural setting.
